Won jobs: tracking what a job really cost
Mark an estimate won, then put in the real hours and costs.
When a customer says yes, open the estimate and choose We got the job. It becomes a job, and the estimate's numbers are kept as they were, for comparison. If they said no, choose We didn't get it, so your win rate in Reports is right.
Hours
Choose people from Add a person: your crew list, with each person's pay, overtime pay, and what an hour really costs you. Add everyone on my crew adds them all at once. For someone who isn't on your crew list (a helper for a week), choose Someone else (add manually) and type their name; they're costed at your crew's average.
Then enter each person's regular and overtime hours from your timesheets. Brushline doesn't clock anyone in; the totals are all it needs.
Costs
Add receipts and bills: paint, supplies, rentals, and anything else. Costs that weren't on the estimate are flagged Not on the estimate.
With QuickBooks, hours and expenses tagged to the job come in on their own. See Automatic updates from QuickBooks.
What you'll see
Next to the estimate: hours, crew cost, paint, supplies, other costs, what you kept, and the real margin, with plain notes like "This job took 12 more hours than planned."
