Closing a job and tuning your numbers
Lock in the results, and let them improve your next estimate.
When the work is done and every receipt is in, choose Close the job. Its numbers then count in Reports and in the contingency suggestion. Choose Reopen to change it if something comes in late.
Adjusting your speeds
If the crew worked faster or slower than your speeds predicted, the job page offers Adjust my speeds. It moves the speeds for that job's kinds of work halfway toward what happened, so one odd job doesn't swing every estimate. It works once per job. You can always change speeds yourself in Company settings → Your work speed.
Paint, supplies, and contingency
Once a job is closed, with every receipt in, it can suggest more:
- Paint: if paint came in well over or under plan, say why. Paint costs more now (or less) changes the prices of the paints that job used. We used more paint (or less) changes how far a gallon goes for that job's kinds of work.
- Supplies: if supplies came to a different share of paint than you plan on, one button moves your supplies percent.
- Contingency: see Contingency.
Like speeds, paint and supplies move halfway toward what happened, once per job. Every change shows up in Company settings, where you can adjust it by hand.
