Costs Brushline doesn't know about

Rentals, dump fees, permits, and anything else: on the estimate and in My costs.

Every job has costs that aren't crew, paint, or supplies. Add them under Equipment and other costs on the estimate.

  • Each cost can be each, per crew day, per crew hour, per gallon, per square foot, or a percent. Per day and per gallon costs follow the job: if the hours or paint change, so does the cost.
  • At your margin (the default) means the price covers the cost and your margin on it, like the rest of the job.
  • At cost passes it to the customer as-is, outside your margin. Use it for things like permits you pass through exactly.

My costs

Costs you use often belong in My costs (Company settings). Choose Save to my list on an estimate, or add them in settings. My costs can be added to every new estimate of a kind automatically, so nothing gets forgotten.

Costs you didn't plan for

When a job is done, costs that weren't on its estimate are flagged on the job with Add to My costs, so the next estimate has them. Reports show how much unplanned costs run, which is a good size for your contingency.
